Easter and long weekends
Easter, Ascension Day and Whitsun give long weekends in Denmark, and many people head to a holiday home (sommerhus) or visit family. You notice it on the motorway and at the chargers.
Busy days
The day before a public holiday and the afternoon of the last day off are busiest. There can be queues over the Great Belt and on the motorways towards the holiday home areas. There can also be queues at the big charging stations along the route.
Plan your charging
Charge at home before you leave. Then you can often get there without charging. If you need to charge on the way, choose a stop outside the busiest hours, and have a second charger up your sleeve. The route planner in Elmer finds the cheapest stop for your car.
At the holiday home
Many holiday homes have no home charger. Ask the owner whether you can charge and how the electricity is paid for. With the right cable you can charge from a normal wall socket. Read more in the guide on campsites and holiday homes.
Ferries
If you are taking a ferry, book in good time and charge before you drive on board. See the guide on ferries and bridges.
